Our Love Story

It all started in August of 2016, in the most unexpected place — sophomore year math class. The seating chart? Destiny. Attison had noticed Carter that summer and quietly hoped for a chance to get close to him. So when she found herself assigned to the desk right next to his, she took it as her moment. Her strategy? Doodle on his arm and talk nonstop. Carter claims she was annoying… but deep down, something sparked.

From that first semester, their friendship grew — hallway conversations, birthday parties, and inside jokes. At Attison’s Sweet Sixteen, all their friends mysteriously disappeared and left them alone for just a little too long. The connection was obvious, but they still didn’t call it anything. Not yet.

Then came September 26, 2017 — the day they made it official. Boyfriend and girlfriend. From that moment on, their story took off.

They navigated the fun and the awkward, the dances and date nights, and even junior cotillion (where they jokingly called it their “wedding” night). But in between the laughter and slow dancing, they started imagining a future together — even before they realized how real that dream would one day become.

As they got older, life got busier. Carter signed to play college baseball in Nashville, and Attison headed to Tuscaloosa to pursue her own big dreams. What followed were four years of long-distance — with all the challenges, growth, and quiet commitment that kind of love requires.

Between early practices, late-night study sessions, and game-day road trips, Carter was constantly on the move. At the same time, Attison was building a business from the ground up, pouring her energy into chasing big goals while balancing college life. Their days were full — sometimes overwhelmingly so — and there were weeks where they barely had time to talk. But that’s what made every visit, every FaceTime call, every handwritten note mean even more.

Some weekends were spent in the stands with pom-poms and Chick-fil-A, cheering Carter on at baseball games. Others were full of long drives, quick car hugs, and tearful Sunday goodbyes. Through every mile and missed call, their love stayed steady. They learned how to show up — even when it wasn’t easy, even when time and distance made it hard.

Eventually, after graduation and years of counting down, Attison moved to Nashville and — finally — they were in the same city again. From their very first date night in Nashville to quiet evenings at home, they began living the life they had only dreamed of during those long-distance years.

They celebrated milestones — from degrees to promotions — and adopted their chaotic and lovable pup, Greta. They went from hallway crushes to partners in real life, building a home and a future that felt beautifully, comfortably theirs. With late-night Sonic runs and everyday routines, they soaked up the joy of simply being together.

.And then came the proposal — in Santorini, Greece, during the trip of a lifetime. Carter planned it all: a private villa, rose petals arranged in a heart, glowing candles, and a sunset that tried its best to compete with Attison’s reaction. Even after an unexpected rainstorm (carrying literal mud from Egypt), it was perfect. Because at the end of the day, their love had never been about flawless timing — it was about choosing each other through every moment, every mile, every mess.

From doodles in math class to building a life filled with dog hair, Sonic runs, and unwavering love — their story has always been one of laughter, loyalty, and growth. Now, after nearly a decade of memories, they’re planning the day they used to only dream about.

And this time? It’s the real wedding.
